On one of my many visits to Bangkok, I decided to head over to the Train Night Market Srinagarindra in Bangkok, and it’s easy to see why this place has become such a hit. It’s a proper mix of vintage charm, local life, and mouth-watering street food. The market is set up like an old railway yard – hence the name – and it’s packed with rows upon rows of colourful stalls selling everything from quirky antiques to the latest fashion.
But the real star of the show? The food. I lost count of how many tempting smells were filling the air – sizzling meats, fresh seafood, and the sweet aroma of Thai desserts. I tried a plate of grilled prawns that were absolutely spot on, and then got talked into trying some deep-fried ice cream (which sounds mad, but it’s surprisingly good).
It’s a brilliant spot to grab a few beers with mates, or take the family for a wander. You get the sense that this is what Bangkok is all about – a bit chaotic, full of energy, and always with something unexpected around the corner.
If you’re in Bangkok and looking for a proper night market experience, get yourself down here. You won’t regret it.
