Koh Chang is one of my favourite locations in Thailand, its fairly close proximity to where I live – Pattaya – make it perfect to spend a few days. The beaches are some of the best you will find in Thailand and, to be fair, the world.
It is however, like the case with Koh Samet and Krabi, starting to get very busy in high seasons and certain areas feel more like a tourist trap than a paradise vacation – very much how I found Bang Bao Pier.
Bang Bao pier can be located nearer the end of the island – in comparison to the ferry landing point. If you walk through the markets stalls on the pier it does open up some wonderful views at the end of the pier – and it is also well worth getting boat trip from this point too.
