For many this pandemic has equated to boredom as we find ourselves indoors and passing the time by binge watching on a series of Netflix. So when a local Pattaya off road safari team reached out to me offering my family and I the chance to experience the thrill and excitement on one of their tours, I jumped at the chance… Well, I would have jumped at the chance but I am still in isolation on Koh Chang.

Still it didn’t stop me from checking out their website and when my son Frank jumped up and down after seeing the images of quad bikes, ATVs and buggies, I made a commitment there and then to give it a try when back in Pattaya.

And by the way, if you are wondering if this is a paid advert, let me put it this way: When the team reached out to me and said did my family want to give a try and for me to vlog about the experience, I replied to their email minutes after it was received with a resounding ‘Yes!’. This is only a quick write up before the vlog as I cannot wait!

What I also liked was that there was no additional fees for bringing a passenger with you. So you can bring you son, daughter or partner at no extra cost! I am sure not only Frank but my wife and my daughter Dani will have an awesome experience. To be honest with you it helps perk me up to travel back to Pattaya after having the most wonderful time locked away on Koh Chang!

I spoke with the owners and understandably business is a tad slow at the moment by virtue of there being no tourists around, but this is the perfect opportunity for us expats to check it out away.

Three modes of vehicle you can select for the tours:

ATV Quad Bikes

This Italian designed all terrain vehicle is a really fun machine, with its strong chassis and body size larger than you normally find on 200cc ATV’s. The sprightly 4 stroke engine drives the rear wheels that experienced riders will love to drift around corners while the jet ski style thumb throttle allows the rider to shift body weight for optimum maneuverability but is also much safer than motorbike style twist grip throttle.

Buggy

The two and four seater buggies are fully automatic, right hand drive with a 600cc engine that packs a powerful punch. Custom made for Pattaya Off Road Safari in Thailand, they lengthened the chassis and raised the roof, so even the tallest of drivers can ride in comfort. They added fat tires for better grip, installed cool LED lights with jet fighter style toggle switches, and of course a 4 point harnesses seat belt mounted to the roll bar for maximum safety. For the ultimate Off-road experience, they also have high performance CF Moto buggies.

Pattaya Off Road Safari have a brand-new fleet of Honda CRF250L’s that have been modified to suit the local terrain, and added OHLINS front and rear suspension, aftermarket exhaust systems, off road knobblies and RENTHAL handlebars. They also have a range of smaller Kawasaki KLX140’s that are similarly customized and ideally suited to lighter riders. For the ultimate riders, they have KTM 350 EXC-F 6 day.

Enduro Academy

Another exciting offer Pattaya Off Road Safari have is an enduro academy for your kids. This is a chance to get your kids professionally trained in riding an enduro bike. There are five different stages to this academy.
