Arguably the most beautiful location on Koh Chang is found on the more unfashionable East side of the island, and it is a tiny island you can kayak too called Koh Ngam.
You will need to drive some 45-minutes from the ferry pier on Koh Chang to get to the island – just follow the signs for Long Beach which is also very beautiful in its own right (there is a nice restaurant here too).
Koh Ngam quite simply is stunning and given it is only very tiny it was a surprise that there were National Park staff present to collect your National Park entrance fees once you landed your kayak on the beach. But don’t let this put you off as it is a remarkable island and a joy to explore.
