Sheena and her husband arrived in Pattaya over 15 years ago and opened a dive center – Mermaid Dive Center, 5 star PADI. Back then I can remember what Pattaya was like, with the best way to describe it being like a Disney land for men.
15 years ago you would rarely see a Western woman, just lots of younger Thai ladies and plenty of older retiree Westerners. Pattaya nowadays has changed immeasurably and is, in my humble opinion, a now tourist destination that caters for many – including families.
In this vlog I speak to both Sheena and her teenage son, Tai, about life in Pattaya and also how scuba diving can be enjoyed by young and old.

As a dad I was excited by the fact that even young children can scuba. Plus the option to spend a day on a boat for some snorkeling around the islands sounds like a lot of fun too.
