If there’s one fruit in Thailand that gets people talking, it’s durian – the so-called King of Fruits. You’ve probably smelt it before you’ve even seen it. With its spiky shell and famously divisive smell, durian is something you either love or… well, you’ll see.

In today’s vlog, I dive into the full durian experience. From choosing the right one at a local market to finally taking a bite, I show you what makes this fruit such a Thai icon. It’s creamy, rich, a little sweet, a little savoury – and unlike anything else you’ve ever tried.

Durian is more than just a fruit here. It’s a conversation starter, a cultural experience, and in some cases, a dare among friends. Love it or hate it, you’ve got to try it at least once when you’re in Thailand.

Watch the full vlog now to see my reaction, hear a bit of the backstory on why Thais love it so much, and maybe – just maybe – get inspired to give it a go yourself.

Because when in Thailand… do as the Thais do. Even if that means holding your nose and diving in!
