I am all to aware that soon I will 50 years old and I will do all I can to ensure I can extend my life for as long as I can and with the optimum health, it must be the ultimate priority ahead of anything else. What is the point in anything with poor health, lack of mobility and a short life?

Recently I started adding a 5km early morning walk to my routine and have been loving it for a variety of reasons – including just getting out of the house early and enjoying the sunshine and peace.

That said, this will not stop me from enjoying the odd treat or nice meal in one of the thousands restaurants in the city! It is all about sensible balance.
