My wife had been talking about visiting a Buddha Footprint – which I later discovered was fundamentally a huge boulder up super high in a mountain – Chanthaburi along the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. To be honest, I was not expecting much and agreed to go along for the ride.  How wrong I turned out to be and I challenge anyone not to find this an awesome and somewhat spiritual adventure (whatever your beliefs!).

Buddha Footprint is only open early each year for around 2 years and typically is awash with crowds, such is the popularity among Thais. We turned up on the last day and there were very few people. It is chance to pay your highest merit to Buddha by committing to this long trek up into the mountains.

The video really does share the total experience, from the bumpy yet fun 8km 4×4 truck ride up the mountain to final 1.2km trek by foot. I had such a remarkable experience that I will long remember.
