My idea of paradise is to live on a tropical island, away from the stresses of daily life and never far away from a sandy coastline and I think I have now found the perfect retreat: Siam Royal View village on Koh Chang.

This in no paid advert, this is me sharing with you where I would like one day to live. If you have followed any of my vlogs from my travels across Thailand you will see a return trip to Koh Chang is never far away. It ticks enough boxes for me on so many levels.

I don’t want a built up, commercialised island like Phuket or Samui. I want rugged charm, plenty of coastline and lots of beautiful nature like jungles and waterfalls. The idea of lots of Chinese tour buses doing the tours on an island just isn’t what I am looking for. Get me away from all of this, put me where I can have my own space, but still have enough creature comforts like some bars and restaurants and let me just chill out and have fun.

Siam Royal View village is located within the charming and elegant Blue Have Bay location, just five minutes from the ferry.

It is staggeringly beautiful and the whole goes under the radar for most visitors to Koh Chang. It not only has 2km of pristine coast line but a 9-hole golf course, marina, hotels and choice of beach fronted restaurants.

A few years ago my wife and I made it our goal to one day have a second home here. Perfect. I am still adamant this will happen, offering us the island escape and still enough city action in the fairly nearby locations of Pattaya and Bangkok.
