Camping has become somewhat of a growing trend across Thailand and with good reason – it is fun. The Northern regions of Thailand have much cooler seasons and with fantastic mountainous terrains it is the perfect place to sleep out among the stars.

Campiness Camping in Chiang Mai is far more luxurious than just being a basic tent and comes complete with air-conditioning, BBQ and outside cinema screen. It created a complete experience and the kids especially loved it.

There are a number of camping choices across Chiang Mai and other Northern provinces, and in many instances you need to bring your own tent. There is also an increasing number of bubble hotels so you can lay in bed and really look out into the stars! On the bubble hotels I looked at prices were, in my opinion, a little expensive at around 8,000 baht for a night (USD$245).
