Let me start with this simple statement. You MUST visit Pai if you are planing a trip to Thailand. There is a wide range of home stays, resorts and hotel you can stay at and you will fall in love with the province.
By all means, visit the world class beaches in the south of Thailand but pencil in at least a few days in Northern Thailand at Pai. A stunning natural landscape, bags of things to do and it will just make you feel good about life.
My family and I stayed at a number of hotels/resorts and this one took the eye, Pai Village Boutique resort and farm, in the central Pai town. You can get a place to stay in Pai from any budget starting as low as $9USD for a room with fan and shower – this due to the large backpacker community keeping costs down. Eating out was cheap as a result too.
As I return back to Pattaya and into the grind of daily work again, I already pine for my return back to Pai. A place to escape the stresses and toils of modern life.
