Songkran celebrations on Koh Phangan

Songkran is the Thai New Year and it has morphed into a huge water fight across the country.

It is fun and you must be prepared to get involved if you are to venture out into the streets when the celebrations are happening.

My family and I ventured out fairly early on the day of the festivities and it was fun and orderly – this can be seen in the vlog below – we then went back to our room and returned again late afternoon where it was much more full on and crazy!

If you have kids they will love it, just be safe as people can get a big careless and motorbikes and cars can lead to accidents with the water being thrown.
