It was a welcome relief to the dark shadow this pandemic has cast over the usually energetic region of Pattaya when I saw this scene. With loud music, a tray full of bugs to sell, a make shift drum kit and even a kids puppet show to boot – this was not the usual run of the meal Thai food cart.
In many ways symbolic for all the fun that Pattaya once had and maybe a glimmer of hope that all is not lost.
Over the years the city has attracted many characters, for example, who can remember the Glitter man who used to cycle the streets everyday? Great memories indeed.
