We all have different requirements from the location we choose to call home, I get that. On balance though and from all my travels across Thailand, I think Pattaya is the best location to set up base for the average expat needs.

It has everything from great range of dining, range of accommodation types, beach to access to Bangkok and airports. If you are undecided about where to start your Thailand adventure you would struggle to find a better alternative to Pattaya.

What makes Pattaya so good is it’s versatility. It can cater for different and wide needs and all budgets. I lived in Hua Hin for a year and it was fantastic and on many levels much nicer and more beautiful than Pattaya, but it was a bit remote and lacked a little energy for example. But for the right person, Hua Hin is paradise.

Unlike Pattaya, other regions tend to fit a specific mold of person only. In my opinion, Pattaya just outscores other regions for range of offer and proposition; but I also accept it won’t be for everyone. Many I speak to that live in Pattaya describe it as a magnet, meaning where ever else they try to go, they are just pulled back to Pattaya again.
