There is a stigma with Pattaya that may never be shrugged off. It has an infamous sleazy reputation frequented only by older European mongers, but it has moved on considerably from those days and there is good reason why it is a popular expat location.
Pattaya is a mainstream holiday resort that caters for the masses, it is far from sophisticated but it is fun and ticks most of the boxes for the average expat needs.
Give me Pattaya over any UK destination any day (but I admit, I am biased!).

Great coments from yourself on Pattaya, totally agree with all you said, just to add anyone who is going to live in Thailand, travel around all the towns, cities, villages and fesorts 1st before setling down, also take time in doing so, and then and only then you wil know whare you want to be. Looking forward to next update, thanks again Dan.
Pattaya is better, for long term. Everything is there, bad and good!
I lived over four years in Thailand, been to over thirty countries, lived in six. The Balkans suit me better. No dirty looks, snide remarks from vendors after asking them a question, touching something or not buying. And, the immigration, long stay rules are much more relaxed. After a few violent deaths, from stabbings at our Pattaya luxury condo, by foreigners on foreigners, and Thais on Thais, the I didn’t really feel safe there anymore. The aggressive lady boys added to that uneasiness. Then, the heavy covid restrictions, completely turned me off on the country.
