I really do want to explore some of the lesser known regions of Thailand and get a better overall insight into Thailand. For that reason, I spent an evening exploring Chanthaburi along the Eastern Seaboard, well known for its gem and durian industry.

What was clear is there is much to do and that 24 hours was not enough time to see everything. On this visit I explored King Taksins shrine and also along the iconic river where there is some beautiful photo opportunities and restaurants.

On my next visit I plan on visiting its coastline and also its gem industry.

Chantaburi is about 3 hours drive from Pattaya and would make a great stop off if you were also then planning to travel to Koh Chang, Koh Kood or Koh Mak further along the Eastern Seaboard.
